The Zonta Club of Nepean Valley Inc, Australia, held its annual Birthing Kits Assembly Day, producing 1,000 birthing kits for women in need.
The initiative came to fruition in 2004 when a club member saw a woman giving birth under a tree in Nepal. After seeing this public birthing, she sought to create a kit that would make a safe and clean birthing environment.
